Litecoin's Current Value Proposition (Mid-2018 Report)

It is a cheaper and faster Bitcoin, plain and simple.

If you've been paying attention to any of the news in 2018, you'll start to hear a theme developing. People are looking for alternatives to BTC because it's too expensive. They want something similar but cheaper and faster. Then they look at Litecoin in the top 10 on CMC and realize it's exactly what they're looking for.

Here are three specific examples to prove my point:

  1. The Lightning Network having Bitcoin and Litecoin support (lnd implementation).

  2. Abra got killed by BTC's fees in December. It was unsustainable. Looked for a cheaper alternative. Litecoin was the only option. (Bill's words, not mine).

  3. Vrporn.com Just going to screenshot what he wrote:

But being similar to BTC isn't its only advantage. It is one of the most liquid cryptocurrencies on the market and that is absolutely important for merchants. Case and point, CEO of TapJets asking Ripple about their liquidity.

Lastly, Litecoin has Scrypt dominance. This is so incredibly important. That means miners from a bigger coin can't all of sudden point their miners to LTC to completely wreck. Every other Scrypt coin has to live in constant fear of this though.

Moral of the story? Litecoin doesn't need fancy roadmaps to shill. It doesn't need to pay for cool new partnerships or developments just to advertise every week or so to keep the Litecoin price up. Litecoin is what most other cryptocurrencies hope to be:

  1. Secure.

  2. High liquidity on as many exchanges as possible.  Btw this is not by accident but an intentional strategy by Satoshilite.  If you ever wonder what he spent a lot of his time on, this was one huge part of it.

  3. Adoption because it is being sought after as well as due to community efforts.

That's not to say Litecoin doesn't have room to improve. Of course it does! What do we need?

  1. Protocol level dev's to expi

  2. Application developers to build on top of LTC. This can be businesses, games, or websites that integrate Litecoin into their projects.

  3. LTC tools like building explorers or SegWit rate trackers or API's for other people to use. Although we have been seeing more people contributing to the ecosystem. For example we had someone post a ltc lnd guide for linux. Someone also posted a blockchain explorer with rpc calls you could host yourself.

  4. The community to continually reaching out to anyone and everyone they know bugging the hell out of them to take LTC as a payment option.

But don't think for a second that we are behind in anyway. In fact, it is the opposite. We are light years ahead. It's the other altcoins who are playing catch-up.
